Mental pattern that causes significant distress

Defining “mental disorder” How do you think we define a mental disorder? (what constitutes/is required for symptoms to qualify as a “mental disorder”?)

A mental disorder is characterized by a clinically significant disturbance in an individual’s cognition, emotional regulation, or behavior. It is usually associated with distress or impairment in important areas of functioning.
How would you define mental health in your own words?
What is mental health? Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.
Why is it called a mental disorder?
A mental disorder, also referred to as a mental illness or psychiatric disorder, is a behavioral or mental pattern that causes significant distress or impairment of personal functioning. Such features may be persistent, relapsing and remitting, or occur as single episodes.
