A performance management task
- You have been asked to help on a performance management task force within your ice cream manufacturing business. For one of the products, employees dip the tips of the cones manually in chocolate as a final step. You aim for no more than 10ml of chocolate to be added per cone. You are investigating two methods of doing the dipping to establish the best one. Your old system (where the employee would judge the amount by eye) put on average 10.08ml of chocolate with a standard deviation of 3.11. A new system (in which the employee has to first put the cone in a plastic holder before dipping) puts in 10.14 on average, with a standard deviation of .098. What would you conclude about the new versus old method?
