Benefits of having a reliable and valid selection process

Question One:

You impressed Ryan, the General Manager of XYZ Company, with your thoughts around Employer Branding.  He wants to interview you for his open Staffing Manager position!  He has two questions.

 

-“Tell me two suggestions to ensure our selection practices are reliable and/or valid.” (any combination of 2 best practices for either reliability and/or validity)

-“Help me understand two benefits of having a reliable and valid selection process.”

Question Two:

The Interview is one of the most important steps of the selection process and serves a multitude of purposes.

 

Outline two personal areas of improvement/ change, explain why you choose these two specific to you and describe a SMART action for each to make you a better interviewer right away.  Summarize these actions where each is SMART (S=specific, M=measurable, A=achievable, R=realistic, T=time oriented)?

 

  • FIRST IMPROVEMENT – Reflections are specific, insightful for the student.  Actions demonstrate ownership and responsibility, detail and will result in significant improvement.
