Students will interview one administrator to learn more about local policies related to family and community engagement at the school district of Palm Beach County. This administrator should work at the School district of palm Beach County,. The purpose of the interview is to identify the ideology and process that local schools and/or districts use when developing and implementing local policies related to families and community involvement. Based on how do you develop, adopt, and implement a policy related to family and community engagement? Who is involved? What guided policy development? What are the purposes of these policies? What resources are available to implement these policies? How effective are these policies in strengthening relationships between families, communities, and schools?

Identify a successful program in the school district of Palm Beach county that needs an effective public relations campaign to inform families and the community and/or establish and strengthen partnerships and collaboration. Once that program is identified, students will develop a proposal for a public relations campaign using best practice strategies that have been discussed throughout the course. The PR campaign’s audience may include school administrators, students, families, community members, school committee members, and other stakeholders. Based on the best practice suggestions must be supported with citations to course readings/research, and any resources identified must also be appropriately cited.
