Challenges to achieving health and health equity

You have recently been appointed as the county health commissioner in your area, and there seems to be a number of health-related issues in your jurisdiction. You are meeting with state and federal officials next month to discuss possible solution to one particular area you believe is crucial to improving health in your county. Pick one determinant of health (or subtopic within determinants of health) you believe it is worth discussing and share your prepared remarks. Among other things, your discussion should address the following to be considered for full credit:

How is the determinant you chose related to health, and what challenges to achieving health and health equity exist as a result?

How does the determinant impact health at the individual and population levels?
