Job Description

Responsible for assisting the director of development in the day-to-day operations of the city’s planning department, including development review, annexations, land use plan amendments, rezonings, historic preservation, economic development activities with the city and airport, and GIS mapping

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in the planning-related field and two years’ experience in a planning-related field. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for experience requirements. AICP recommended.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Knowledge/understanding of growth management statues/FAC rules

Ability to understand/interpret city codes and regulations

Computer background (GIS recommended)

Strong presentation skills/PowerPoint

Strong verbal/writing skills

Ability to communicate/work with the general public
