3. Answer the following questions and prompts in the document is complete and correct sentences.
a. Describe the name of the statistical test that was used, and what data was grouped to
calculate it- be specific about what defines the 2 groups of data. (Don’t give any of the
numbers or results yet! Think of this as giving instructions for someone else to do the same
statistical test as you. This will be part of your lab report “Methods” section; the rest will be
part of your “Results” and “Discussion” sections)
b. Does your p-value indicate that the two groups have a significantly different average heart
rates?
i. If the differences between the two groups were due to chance, what is the probability
of seeing this data?
ii. What does this mean about how the independent variable might be affecting human
heart rate?
c. Finally, report your results in the following format
i. Including your calculated means and standard errors
ii. Specifying whether they were or were not significantly different
iii. Inserting your p-value
