J. H is a 62-year-old bank executive. He was presented to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain. The pain is in the mid epigastrium, and it radiates into his back. The patient is an alcoholic and admits to consuming 2-3 alcoholic beverages several days a week. J.H was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Pancreatitis is a disease in which the pancreas becomes inflamed. The inflammation causes pain due to the premature activation of the enzymes of the pancreas which causes autodigestion of the pancreas.
