Write a 1,500-word essay that analyzes the entire book; for example, you could focus on one theme and show how the book develops this theme through its three parts.

In addition to using quotes from the book, support your argument with evidence from 3 additional sources. In the U.S., Alexievich’s work has not received a lot of attention, much of which is due to traditional assumptions about what a literary text should look like and do. As a result, you will not find many scholarships about her work in academic journals; however, you can find book reviews of her work as well as articles in newspapers, magazines, or journals that give you some background knowledge of the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl and Alexievich’s method of gathering information and writing her books.

Suggested sources: book reviews, interviews with the author (check YouTube), Alexievich’s website, and any of the sources linked in our Canvas site (for example, the article “The Memory Keeper”)

Challenges in different groups of stakeholders

Challenges in different groups of stakeholders

Conduct library research to find 1-2 more articles related to decision-making where there are diverse groups of stakeholders (i.e., in global, multi-cultural, or multi-generational environments and environments where social responsibility is – or should be – a concern).
In about 2 paragraphs, and appropriately citing your sources, explain the challenges that leaders and other decision-makers face in organizational environments that involve different groups of stakeholders.
Also, consider the stakeholders’ perception of leadership decisions and of the bigger picture. Finally, share additional insights and examples related to your own involvement in multi-stakeholder environments (either as a decision-maker or as a stakeholder

A free enterprise system

A free enterprise system provides individuals the opportunity to make their own economic decisions, without restrictions from the government. It allows the supply and demand of consumers to determine the success or failure of an economic endeavor. As a result, some business owners have become successful, while others have not.

In an essay, you will choose an entrepreneur and argue whether the free enterprise system was necessary for that individual to make an impact on the business world.

Intersectional critical analysis

Write a 3-4 page in-depth, intersectional critical analysis of your text that considers it in historical context, its form (film or television), and its conditions of production (who created it, was it mass-marketed, etc.), and its intended audience.

It is likely that other media scholars have written about your chosen text, and if so it’s important that you read what they have to say so that you can then join the conversation already happening about that text. For example, if you are writing about Gilmore Girls, of course, read GRMC Chapter 54, and search ESC library databases and such for scholarly writing on the show and familiarize yourself with that conversation so that you can build it, offering your own insights about the text.

You must include a total of 4 scholarly sources, 2 of which may be from your textbook/course materials, and 2 outside sources. Additional supplementary sources such as news media articles are welcome and encouraged, especially because conversations about your text may be happening on the web, Twitter, etc. too, and are therefore relevant to your research. Do keep in mind that those are supplementary rather than scholarly sources.
