Network and data vulnerabilities

Risk assessment does not just include infrastructure. Risks can also include technological challenges, such as network and data vulnerabilities, which were evident when the Federal Government’s OPM personnel data was stolen.

Create a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation addressing the following:

Describe and provide an example of the terms information, cyber, and computer security. Explain the differences between the terms.
Identify and provide an example of the steps to evaluate the effectiveness of an organization’s mobile security plan.
Contrast and provide an example of cyberwarfare and cyberterrorism

Transitioning from cybersecurity to physical security

Transitioning from cybersecurity to physical security, this module examines how our nation’s critical infrastructure is affected by the vulnerable cyber technology that controls its daily functions.

In his 2012 Defcon 20 cybersecurity conference presentation, Dan Tentler, founder of the San Diego-based information security consulting firm AtenLabs, shared screenshots of dozens of connected devices he could find on the Internet using a laptop and browser. He was able to access several critical infrastructure systems, showing that they were vulnerable to cyber-attack. His presentation vividly demonstrated that the Internet was not designed with security in mind.

Network-ready industrial control systems that monitor and control the physical processes of machines have become the instruments that contribute to a threat we call physical security. The machines we rely on to supply energy, drinking water, and safe food are at risk. The potential security weakness of SCADA systems was exposed by a cyber-attack against the Natanz Iran uranium enrichment facility. A computer worm, called Stuxnet, caused the facility’s control systems to make the centrifuges spin out of control. Stuxnet, a cyber-weapon that changed modern warfare, does not discriminate between nations; it simply attacks and destroys computer-managed machines.

Critically evaluate whether Art 6 of Rome I provides sufficient protection for consumers

The two questions are :
1) Critically evaluate whether Art 6 of Rome I provides sufficient protection for
consumers who enter into cross border contracts. (1500 words)

Link to Rome I Regulation : https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32008R0593&from=en

Link to Giuliano and Lagarde Report : https://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:31980Y1031(01):EN:HTML – this report may be considered in ascertaining the meaning or effect of any provision of the Rome Convention.

*IMPORTANT* : there should be mention of how UK would be affected due to Brexit as it is no longer a part of the EU and a short discussion on how protections under Art 6 might change for an independent state like the UK that is not part of the EU but deals with cross-border contracts with member states of the EU. This can be a short paragraph towards the end of the essay.

Brief outline of question 1 :

Introduction : Explain what Rome I Regulation is about, then move on to Article 6 of the regulation on the applicable for consumer contracts. End introduction with what the essay intends to discuss – that Art 6 does not provide sufficient protection/that it does provide sufficient protection.

Body: Article 6(1) of Rome I, where applicable law is governed by the country in which the consumer is habitual resident to (Art 19 for what constitutes ‘habitual residence’) and go through the 2 instances where an exception can be made. Use case law to reference examples of cases within the scope of Rome I and art 6 as well as the exceptions.

Next, critically evaluating whether article 6 provides enough protection by identifying the limitations of article 6 and use case law to support arguments.

After identifying limitations, there should be some suggestions made as to any amendments that could be made to afford further protection to consumers and why there should be more protection, referencing case law to support argument.

Conclusion :
should include a summary of whether after critical evaluation if article 6 provides adequate protection to consumers in cross-border contracts and how the amendments suggested can help provide more protection.

Ethical Decision-making For Human and Social Services

Ethical Decision-making For Human and Social Services

As you explored, ethical dilemmas are referred to as such because they involve conflicting values and are not easy to resolve. Furthermore, ethical standards and codes do not often give prescriptive advice for specific situations. For these situations, it is useful to employ ethical decision-making models. These models are frameworks that provide sequential steps to guide your research, thinking, and actions regarding dilemmas you may face.

Your course text presents one ethical decision-making model in detail, but it mentions several others. In your current or future roles as a human and social services professional, the organization for which you work may have adopted models they wish you to use, or you may be free to choose your own. As you become more familiar with the models available, you may wish to select models that closely align with your professional values and perspectives. Finally, remember that when you make ethical decisions in your professional practice, clients should be included in this process whenever possible.

For this Assignment, you apply the ethical decision-making model in your course text to a specific event or issue relevant to working within a family system.

To Prepare:

Select a current event or issue related to ethics for human and social services professionals working within a family system. It is not necessary to select an issue for this Assignment that contains cultural elements, although you may if you wish.
Review the “Ethical Decision Making Model” found in Chapter 3 of your course text Issues and Ethics in the Helping Professions. Consider how you would apply this model to the event or issue you selected. If your selected issue does contain cultural elements, you may consider applying the transcultural integrative ethical decision-making model discussed in the article “A Transcultural Integrative Model for Ethical Decision Making in Counseling.”

Using the ethical decision-making model, write a paper in which you:

Describe your selected ethical event or issue related to working within a family system. Be concise yet specific about the ethical issues present.
Explain how you, as a professional, would resolve the dilemma using the steps of the ethical decision-making model. Use the NOHS standards as your relevant code of ethics to clarify the dilemma. For the step regarding consultation, explain what type of professional(s) you would need to contact for consultation

Mind-Body-Spirit Connection

Topic: Mind-Body-Spirit Connection

As nurses, we know the importance of the Mind, Body, and Spirit connection. No doubt that most of us have witnessed the “Hopeless case” recover or the patient who just received a poor diagnosis with months to live will die almost immediately. Dr. Charles Horace Mayo, founder of the Mayo Clinic knew this connection and believed it vital to a patient’s healing. Today the Mayo Clinic utilizes Mind-Body practices and even has a Mind-body Initiative. The Mayo Clinic’s Dr. Brent Bauer, M.D., professor of General Internal Medicine, and Dr. Cindy Kermott, M.D., assistant professor of Preventive Medicine; and Dr. Martha Millman, M.D., wrote the book, An Integrative Guide to Good Health, that discusses how alternative and complementary techniques can enhance conventional medicine.

Discuss the Mind-Body-Spirit connection, providing research articles and/or writings of interest from the Medical Profession throughout time and the globe.

What complementary techniques (not just diet and exercise) can be used in the Acute Care setting to enhance conventional medicine (such as meditation, aromatherapy, acupuncture, and reflexology, etc.).

As acute Nurse Practitioners, how can we become knowledgeable enough to encourage alternative therapies for our patients to assist them in both healing and preventative care?

Family Disaster Plan Summative Assessment

Family Disaster Plan Summative Assessment

How would you prepare for the following situation? (provide realistic examples and details for safety and survival)

(Scenario) At this moment, you are sitting at home working on your nursing class. Suddenly, the National Weather Bureau sends an alert across your cell phone—a tornado is headed your way. You have 15 minutes before touchdown in your neighborhood. What is your plan? This is a ‘shelter in place’ scenario, you cannot outrun the tornado. Identify a safe place in your home to take shelter.

You must include research. Cite and reference two sources and explain the recommended safety measures in a tornado emergency and how you would apply them to your specific living arrangements.

b. How prepared are you in the event of a disaster? Describe your level of disaster preparedness using specific examples and references to your “go-bag” and preparedness checklist assignments.
1
Example: “I am more prepared for a water-related disaster than a fire-related disaster even though I live in a highly secluded, forested area. I have a boat as transportation in the event of flooding, but I do not have rain barrels or fire barrier supplies on hand.”

Example: “There were many missing items on my preparedness checklist. I realized that I do not own a flashlight. If I had to use my phone as light it would drain the battery very quickly.

c. Reflect on how prepared you were before this class and compare it with how prepared you are now.

Have you acquired any new emergency items?
Do you plan to take any additional trainings or certification courses?
Have you shared your knowledge with friends and family?

Contemporary legal issue in the United States

In modern times, there is significant discussion about “justice” and “rights.” We often hear that something does or does not achieve “justice” or that someone has a “right” to something. Please address the following issues in your paper.
1. Define “justice” and “rights” from a biblical perspective. This should set a standard by which claims to justice and rights can be analyzed.
2. Select a specific, contemporary legal issue in the United States where individuals assert a “right” to something or state that something is inconsistent with standards of “justice” and apply a biblical understanding of “justice” and “rights” to conclude whether the specific asserted right or claim of injustice you selected is indeed a denial of a “right” or fails to achieve “justice.” Be sure to fully explain each part of your answer.
Be sure to use materials from the reading, the Bible, and outside sources.

Chronology of negotiation

The quality of the analysis in a project is more important than the topic itself. Select a topic you find personally interesting. It is always easier to produce a good project on an atopic you find exciting and relevant. As with the individual papers, team projects should emphasize analysis rather than description or chronology of negotiation (which could be provided in an appendix). You will need to do some outside research for your analysis. You should always cite your sources in the paper and provide a reference section listing all sources. If you do interviews, you should turn in copies of interview questions. If you write a survey you will need to turn in copies of the survey.
