Explain the concepts of self-awareness

Identify and explain the concepts of self-awareness, self-esteem, and perception in order to gain a better understanding of each as well as increase your perceptual accuracy.

Instructions:

  1. Review concepts related to self-awareness, including The Four Selves, that you explored in the textbook and in the learning activities.
  2. Consider the fact that an individual’s self-awareness combined with an individual’s perception of a situation often varies and differences in both can influence how a communication interaction transpires.
  3. Reflect on a time when the perception of others — the impression you made — was particularly important (your first date with someone, the first day of college, the first day on a new job, etc.).
  4. What kind of impression did you want to make and why? What did you do to ensure others perceived you how you wanted them to? Were your attempts effective?
  5. Write a two- to three-page paper, not counting the title page and the references page, that describes the event, differences of perception, and defines the concepts of self-awareness and perception.
  6. While including cited terms and concepts is important, the bulk of this paper should be about your own experience.

Suggested structure: Introduction paragraph that includes a main idea, multiple body paragraphs with evidence and support, and conclusion paragraph that wraps it up.

Clinical Document Architecture

Explain the differences and/or similarities between the Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), Continuity of Care Record (CCR), and the Continuity of Care Document (CCD). What kinds of information exchange could use each of these standards? What challenges do you foresee or have you seen in the adoption of EHR Meaningful Use, particularly with regard to health information exchange? with references

Types of listening styles

For this assignment, you will identify, explain, and provide examples of the four types of listening styles discussed in the textbook.

Instructions:

  1. Review the four types of listening styles in the textbook and in the learning activities assigned for this module.
  2. Reflect on your own listening style/styles.
  3. Describe a time at work, at school, or in your personal life when your listening style proved effective, or ineffective. How could you have altered your style for that situation to change the outcome?
  4. Write a two- to three-page descriptive essay, not counting the title page and the references page, that defines each of the listening styles and addresses the questions above.
  5. While including cited terms and concepts is important, the bulk of this essay should relate to your own experience.

Suggested structure: Introduction paragraph that includes a main idea, multiple body paragraphs with evidence and support, and conclusion paragraph that wraps it up.

The exceptional communication quality

Gender and Message Meanings: In this discussion, you will explore gender speech patterns as well as gender differences in politeness. Reflect on a time you (or someone you know) were conversing with a friend or loved one when you noticed a positive communication that was an exception to the instrumental/relational gender norm as discussed in DeVito.

Discuss the context and the exceptional communication quality that this communicator demonstrated. What would have been the gender norm? How did this communication outside of gender norms make others feel?  What contextual factors facilitated this positive communication? What are the potential obstacles of either gender as it relates to this communication quality?

The methods used to solve equations with variables and constants

In this discussion, you will explore the methods used to solve equations with variables and constants on both sides. Consider this equation: 3x + 1 = 2x – 5. Because there are variables and constants on both sides of the equation, there are different possible first steps that can be used to solve this equation.

Then, answer the following questions:

  • What is the first step you would take to solve this equation? Explain your rationale.
  • Do you think there is a first step that would yield the solution in fewer steps? If yes, what is it?
  • What is one common mistake you think students could easily make if they are not careful in solving this equation? How would you teach students to avoid this mistake?

Explore the concept of slope

In this discussion, you will explore the concept of slope and determine how to teach someone how to find the slope of a line. One of your friends is struggling with the concept of slope. To help your friend with this concept, you decide to ask her to draw several lines with different slopes. So that your friend will not be confused, you will need to give her instructions for drawing each of the examples listed below without using any mathematical terms or equations.

Write out the instructions you would give your friend to complete this task and better understand the slope of a line. Avoid using mathematical terms or equations. In your instructions, ask her to draw the following:

  • a line with a positive slope
  • a line with a negative slope
  • a line with an undefined slope
  • a line with a slope of 0

Information systems in healthcare environments

Course Objectives you will cover this week: 1. Acquire the ability to identify and differentiate the types of information systems in use in the U.S. healthcare system, the history of de, and their strengths and weaknesses in providing the information needed by various stakeholders. 2. Progress a comprehension of how information systems and technology add value to the system and for stakeholders 3. Develop the ability to identify the laws, regulations, and standards applicable to information systems in healthcare environments 4. Progress knowledge concerning privacy and security measures for Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIT. 6. Provide in-depth training on the analytical functions of Electronic Health Record systems, their outputs, and the significance of the potential analytics healthcare system.

Epidemiological study of risk factors for lung cancer

A longitudinal epidemiological study of risk factors for lung cancer was conducted. 500 smokers who smoked a pack of cigarettes for more than 30 years developed lung cancer, while 14,500 smokers did not develop lung cancer. In the same study, 50 cases of lung cancer occurred among people who never smoked. The remaining 29,950 who never smoked did not develop lung cancer.

Implementation of digital services in an information institution

Describe two ethical scenarios concerning the designing or implementation of digital services in an information institution (for example a library, or archive). Based on your descriptions, please analyze these two scenarios with careful consideration of the Code of Ethics (e.g., ALA Code of Ethics, SAA Code of Ethics)and provide possible solutions for these two scenarios.
