Impressive practice I found through the SAMHSA website

The most impressive practice I found through the SAMHSA website is…

The most impressive practice I found through the SAMHSA website is the practice of structuring evidence-based practices to meet the specific needs of a community affected by sociodemographic inequities.

After reading specific EBPs focused on particular mental illnesses, the idea of building the treatment centers around the specific needs of certain communities seems glaringly obvious.

For example, addressing the needs of those struggling with addiction in rural areas would be much different than those living in a Park Avenue apartment.

Factors such as education, socioeconomic status, family dynamics, and access to medical professionals are all contributing factors to a program’s success.

Understanding what makes up the essence of an individual, in addition to that individual’s community, will help clinicians introduce evidence-based practices which are more likely to succeed.

The resource section offers specific links to centers focused on communities with needs one may feel are outside the box.

This is another example of encouraging counselors to expand their techniques past the one-size-fits-all way of thinking, (Evidence-Based Practices Resource Center, n.d.).

What can you conclude from the above ?
