The types of pollution

Explain the effects of types of pollution (Air, Water, or Land) on the environment, ecosystems, and plant and animal species in any country of your choice.

The recycled fibres

Discuss three world manufacturers which use recycled fibres in their products and deeply explain on how they use recycled fibres to produce their products

The transpiration rate of typical plants

Can you describe an environment in which the transpiration rate of typical plants would be lower than the environment just described?

The geologic time

Describe the process of how particles or atoms floating around the early universe eventually leads to the formation of stars and planets in the universe. What’s the major force involved and how does that influence the formation of these objects in space? Discuss how geologic time fits in with this idea. Do you think the process is quick or does it span over large amounts of geologic time to work?

The convergent plate boundary

When a convergent plate boundary between oceanic crust and continental crust exists, old crust is destroyed/recycled in the process. Provide an example of this happening on Earth and what the effects are as a result. Will there be volcanoes and earthquakes? If so, why does that occur? Describe the motion of the plates at this boundary and include whether it is considered an active or passive margin.

The single recessive null

Explain how inheritance of a single recessive null allele in the Retinoblastoma (Rb) gene results in bilateral cancer of the retina with 100 penetrance.

The environmental stressors

How do environmental stressors like temperature and drought influence an ecosystem’s carrying capacity? Is it always positive or negative? Give an example of each (positive and negative), but describe which is more likely to occur in the long run under projected climate change.

The halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons.

Discuss the toxicities associated with two of the following groups of chemicals used in the workplace, including an example chemical from each group: particulates, toxic gases and halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons.

The naturally-occurring toxicant

Discuss a type of derived food toxicant and a type of naturally-occurring toxicant, and give an example chemical for each type. Briefly describe how each chemical may be present in certain foods, providing an example of the most likely food item to be involved in these two situations.

Describe the stressor. It can be a personal example or taken from someone you’ve known

  • Describe the stressor.  It can be a personal example or taken from someone you’ve known or seen depicted.
    • Focus on a single stressor, or if more fitting, a group of closely related ones.
    • Choose an example you know well.
    • Give a thorough description
      • Characterize the stressor in terms of chronicity and control, explaining how each concept applies.

dentify a Stressor (Use this text as a header)

Describe the Stress Reaction (Use this as a header)

Describe the stress response.  for both physical and psychological effects

What were the physical effects?

Fight-or-flight reactions? What are those? How applicable to your example?

Selye’s exhaustion phase? What’s that? How applicable to your example?

Immune effects?  What are those? How applicable to your example?

(Other physical reactions? Describe these.)

What were the psychological effects?

Stress interpretation – the two steps. What are these? Apply to your example.

Burnout? What’s that? How did it apply? Which of the psychological symptoms of burnout shown in text were seen, and how? Other signs?

The Coping Responses Used (Use this as header)

You have 11 to choose from:  “Mind Management” (3 types), “Body Management” (4 types), and “Body Management (4 types).

Describe each coping response used and show how each matches the strategy as described in text

Evaluate each strategy used: For each: How effective was it?

What other textbook strategy (or strategies) might have worked? Say how it might have helped.
