The biogeochemical cycles

Biogeochemical cycles When examining the carbon cycle we discussed how humans are adding carbon dioxide and methane, both greenhouse gases, to the atmosphere which is contributing to global climate change. As a result of global economies shutting down in 2020, it has been estimated there was a 6.5% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. However, we have essentially gone back to business as usual for 2021 and 2022. For your discussion, I want you to think about climate change. Do you think climate change is an issue we should be concerned about? Why or why not? What can we be doing as a society (nationally and globally) that will allow us to have our economy up and running but still decrease greenhouse gas emissions? Do you think recent policy changes, like California banning the sale of new gasoline-powered cars in the next decade, are a good idea? Why or why not? What types of policy changes on either the state or national level would you suggest? What can you do as an individual to minimize your greenhouse gas emissions? What are you actually willing to do?

The Solar System

Discuss Your Insights about the Solar System from the Scaling Experiment. Discuss in Depth, and Interpret, the Meanings and Uses of the Different Forms of Number Display. What Conclusions Have You Noted from these Exercises?

Land temperature and ocean temperature time series.

Explain the trends in the individual and land temperature and ocean temperature time series. What are some reasons why temperature rise was greater over the land than the ocean (hint: recall the concept of specific heat from the pre-lab assignment)?

The lithosphere and asthenosphere

Do you think the boundary between the lithosphere and asthenosphere represents a surface of constant pressure or temperature? please explain.

The Caribbean developmental psychology

Explain the issues experienced in the Caribbean concerning developmental psychology as the scientific study of human behavior across the lifespan.

The theory of plate tectonics

Why does the theory of plate tectonics depend on the rheological layering of the earth? what kind of layers represents the ‘plates’ of the plate tectonic?

The atomic hydrogen

The presence of strong lines of atomic hydrogen in a star’s spectrum indicates that the star is made primarily of hydrogen. is part of a binary star system. likely contains a black hole. Has a temperature favorable to the formation of hydrogen spectral lines. 10 of 12 At what stage does hydrogen begin to be fused to helium inside a star?

The rising of air masses

What mechanisms are responsible for the rising of air masses?  List, sketch, and briefly describe what is occurring in each.

The datum to which Z-coordinates are most commonly referred.

Explain why Z-coordinates may be included when describing the locations of points, and describe the datum to which Z-coordinates are most commonly referenced.
