The theory, proposed by psychologist Robert J. Sternberg, contends that there are three types of intelligence: practical (the ability to get along in different contexts), creative (the ability to come up with new ideas), and analytical (the ability to evaluate information and solve problems)
- A) Apply Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences to your own strengths and weaknesses. Be sure to discuss the theory first, covering all 9 of the different types of intelligence (3 marks). Which of the 9 would you be strongest in? Weakest in? How do you know this? (3 marks)
B)Do you feel that this theory is valid? Why or why not? (2 marks)

- A) Outline Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (updated model as found in the notes) (4 marks).
B) Analyze someone famous (celebrity, politician, humanitarian, etc.) using this hierarchical model. Discuss each level of the hierarchy and whether this particular person has met the needs of each level. Be sure to discuss why they have or have not met the needs of each level. (4 marks)
Material from Social and Personality Psychology module (8 marks total)
- A) Briefly discuss a time in your life when you used a compliance technique (or had a compliance technique used on you). Identify the technique and define what it is and how it works (4 marks). One technique is sufficient.
B) Find a FREE online personality test of any sort (legitimate or not). Provide the name of the test and the link for it in your answer. Did you feel the test was valid? Why or why not? (2 marks) What types of questions did it ask? How did you feel about the results (i.e., were they accurate?; why or why not?) (2 marks)
