Covid-19 response and guidelines
The National government claimed that the said ordinance/EO is not in accordance with law citing the Executive order from the office of the president of the Philippines with regards to Covid-19 response and guidelines.
Our country is still in the time of pandemic where the virus is still circulating though, the impact is not that hard and massive compared to it two years ago. The threat is still present that gives some Filipinos fear and anxiety specially going out for work, schools or whatever reasons. Facemask and alcohol are essential in combating the virus spread especially in a closed and unventilated area.
Different LGU’s management show a manifestation on what should be done and how they will protect its constituents. Province A has ordered through an executive order to its jurisdiction on the optional use of facemask in an open area where it has been supported by its local legislative body through and passed a provincial ordinance.
On the mandate of the law, the LGU has the autonomy and powers devolved should be exercised to its utmost intent. It is also true that the national government has the obligation to oversee the LGU as an agent of NG.
