Describe some crime prevention programs and explain why these are important programs for police to improve their relationship with the community – especially in minority neighborhoods.  Community crime prevention programs include National Night Out, Crime Stoppers, Neighborhood Watch, Operation Identification, home security surveys, citizen volunteer programs, chaplain programs, citizen police academy, mass media campaigns, police storefronts, and citizen patrols.
