Some of the information in this module relates to the effect incarceration can have on an individual. Your task is to use your resources and discuss these effects, and if you feel like the criminal justice system itself should be responsible for alleviating the stress that can come with being jailed.

Although imprisonment is seen as a form of punishment, there are provisions which limit the extent of this punishment – it cannot be overly cruel. Do you feel the US does a good enough job of limiting the cruelness of incarceration? Are those convicted of crimes just getting what they deserve?
