Original Post Due Wednesday 08/03 by 11:59 pm.

For this assignment your task is to think about different emotions and what factors influence how people might experience emotions across the lifespan.

Below you will see three photos.

For each photo, please describe

1) What emotions they make you feel and why (e.g., what it is about the photo that makes you feel that way).

2) What thoughts come to mind when you look at each photo (e.g., what does the picture make you think of? describe any memories they might bring to mind)?

**Side note: The photos you just saw are typically used in research studies to evoke a brief state of fear, disgust, and joy**.

3) Do you think a child would have the same reaction to these photos as you? Provide a response for each photo, and be sure to explain WHY you think that.

4) Do you think each of your classmates will feel the same way you do? Why or why not?

5) What factors do you think influence the different ways people experience emotions?

6) What factors influence the way we experience different emotions as we get older?

7) If you do not have the same reactions to things now as you did when you were younger, why might that be (e.g., think about how developmental processes are changing across childhood/adolescence/young adulthood)?

8) Do you think that the elderly have the same reactions to emotional situations/things as young adults? In what ways might the emotional reactions of an elderly person look the same/different as a young persons?

9) Do you think you will care as deeply about the things you do now when you are in your 80s? Why or why not?
