Women go through a lot of emotions and thoughts that they can not control. Having that good emotional and physical support would definitely have helped out Andrea.
Many thoughts run through my mind when I see this story, when a woman gives has a baby that’s whenever she’s at her very lowest point. I as a male and still have not experienced this but when my future wife has our children I’ll make myself to be beside her every step of the way. In my opinion, this case just does not seem right in any way, postpartum just requires a lot of attention from your spouse, family members, and doctors.
The doctor did very wrong and stopped giving her medication and the husband as well for being warned that she could not have been alone with the kids so he did not take those warnings very seriously.
Everything could have been way different if extra measures would have been taken seriously. As a partner the responsibility is to assist your spouse through thick and thin, especially when you see something going south you should step in. Andrea had the combination of depression and postpartum of every child’s birth it basically accumulated and got worst with each child.
The doctor fail at doing his job correctly, if he saw that his patient was not making any progress it is his responsibility in making sure she was well-being, prescribed what was not needed for her and it did not make it any better for her.
The husband knew that her getting pregnant and having a child after a child would not resolve any issues, so he as well knew she was battling her own battles. So if that were the plan to continue having many more children he should have helped in and just been her backbone.
Now that time has gone by and she’s getting the correct care she can now fight the battles that she’s dealing with, with proper support. Unfortunately what hurts the most is that the children died of something that she could not control on her and that was her mental health battles.
So many people fail her and led to the worst things I can not imagine the guilt people feel when they knew how she was and that the kids could not be around her and that happened for the lack of care and sympathy, so many people did in fact fail Andrea.
But regardless of her state of mind, the crime she committed can not be justified and should be treated like any other crime.
