Form I-9 should be utilized by all employers to prove a new employee’s identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Oftentimes, employers will ask new employees to provide their social security card and driver’s license to fulfill the requirements of this form.  Explain why this practice is wrong and why an employer should not specify which specific documents an employee can provide for the completion of this form.
