Ethical Rules of Conduct

Consider the following statement from the Ethical Rules of Conduct (Department of Health, 2006, paragraph 44(7)): ‘When any electronic, Internet or other indirect means of assessment is used, the psychologist concerned shall declare this and appropriately limit the nature and extent of his or her findings’. What is your reaction to this statement? In what way does CBT or IDT limit the nature of the assessment findings and is this any different to the limitations experienced when performing traditional paper-based or performance-based testing?James Mhlangu is 18 years old and in Grade 12.
