Global pay gap between men and women
As per the World Economic Forum, The global pay gap between men and women will
take 202 years to close.
In Ontario, the Pay Equity Act was first passed in 1987 when the gender pay gap was
36%. The Pay Equity Commission of Ontario is trying to promote gender economic
equality by enforcing pay equity rights and obligations through effective case and
complaint management; understanding gender wage gap through research; and
promoting awareness to advance economic equality for Ontario’s working women.
Do you think pay equity commission has helped reduce the gender wage gap over the
30 years or there continues to be a substantial wage gap in Ontario? If so, how can this
