The Gold Rush multi-faceted historical event celebrated for its adventure and opportunity. But depending on your ethnic-racial-gender identity it may have been experienced in a different way. Assume the identity of a person belonging to one of the minority groups cited in Chapter 4: California Indians – Californios – Women – Spanish Speakers – Chinese – African Americans – Europeans, etc. and make a diary or journal entry or letter telling of your experiences during the California Gold Rush. Remember to include some historic details along with your “story” and reflections.
