scope of practice in the health care role

I want you to think about the “scope of practice” in the health care role you hope to join, or in a role that interests you.    Do some research and see if the State of Maine (or any other State) defines that scope; if so, provide a link to that information along with your discussion for the benefit of others.   If the State doesn’t appear to define the scope, you could also seek out info from professional organizations (i.e. AAMA for medical assistants), or ask others doing this job how they know what their scope is.

DISCUSS:    In this role, describe a procedure or action that would be “within your scope of practice” and describe one that would be “outside your scope of practice.”  Explain why one is permitted and the other is not.  Again, if you acquired a written “Scope of Practice” from an official source (State website, professional organization, even a workplace job description), please include the link or attach the document for others to read.
