Heart rate

For an assignment I was tasked to form a hypothesis. Mine was that my heart rate would beat faster when I’m doing 5 minutes of walking on the treadmill at 3.5 speed than when I was resting. I am supposed to find out the “control group” but I am the only participant in this study and am not sure what that would be. Would it be my resting heart rate?
