Are  heuristics necessary for our daily functioning

The representativeness heuristic and the availability  heuristics define them. A creative example related to political science is where we might form a false belief/opinion by using that heuristic. How might one make us more likely to use the other? How might they combine together into a problematic mistake? Does using one help us avoid or mitigate the other? Are  heuristics necessary for our daily functioning, or is it possible to eliminate/reduce one or both?
