Human Resource issues in the organization

This term paper will cover material from the entire course. The student will identify an organization that they have worked in, have working knowledge of (i.e. a family business) or an organization that is easily researched on the internet. The student must identify and discuss at least two and no more than three Human Resource issues in the organization and analyze what is not done well with respect to areas they have identified. They will then develop and describe recommendations that would enhance/improve and/or change the situation in the identified areas. The paper should use many of the concepts discussed in the textbook and the lessons relative to the HR-related areas chosen.

There are three main sections in the paper. The sections are related, and the paper must flow logically through each one.

The paper should briefly outline the organization including the number of employees.  Describe what industry the organization is in, what type of business it is. Please indicate the number of employees, number of divisions or locations within the organization and whether it is a unionized or non-unionized environment. (Students may mention a fictitious name for the organization if they wish)

The next section should describe the two or three HR related issues in the organization that not done well, why they are not done well and what the impact on employees, customers and the organization has been because of this.

The third section is where the student will discuss and explain their recommendations that would enhance/improve and/or change the situation in the identified HR areas.
