Important for success as a Human Resources professional

Describe at least three of the skills that are important for success as a Human Resources professional. Think about experiences you’ve had or things you’ve seen HR staff do. What skills are needed to be able to do those things?

 

Here is an example of what I mean by a “skill:”

HR professionals who choose benefits for an organization need solid financial analysis skills. This is because they need to know how much each benefit will cost the company and be able to choose vendors who will provide good quality and cost effective benefits. (Have you ever wondered why and how a company chooses which health insurance company they will use for their employees’ medical benefits?  It’s by conducting financial and quality analyses.)

In addition, after you’ve read Chapter 2, give us an example of one of the trends that you see showing up where you work (or have worked before). What is your company doing, and in your opinion, what is good/bad about it?
