How did this impact his feelings of competence, independence, and ability to relate to others? 2 Some of the language used in the film about Owen’s autism, “prison,” “drowning,” and “stolen,” highlights the perception of ASD in the 90s, as well as the intense emotions that his family was experiencing at that time.
