Lessons From The Pandemic In Reimagining The Event Industry
Case Study Rubric
Part of being an effective global leader in the Hospitality and Tourism industry includes having the ability to think through problems. This form of critical thinking is important and is an essential element of individual growth allowing the Hospitality and Tourism professional to compete in the global marketplace. You will research articles within the past 2 years that relate to Foodservice Management, Contract Foodservice Management, or Foodservice Marketing. You will write 300 – 350 word summary of the article that also includes your viewpoints and/or thoughts of the article. Evaluate the practicality and influence on today’s market. The idea is to teach you how to synthesize information and write concisely. Further explanation is listed below, and a sample case study of my expectations can be found in blackboard.
In one solid and complete paragraph (or more), write a summary of the article. The summary should be in-depth and concise.
In a second solid paragraph (or more) you will write your in-depth opinion of the article. Highlighting any pro’s and/con’s that you may infer. Your ideas and thoughts on the subject. This again should be a good solid paragraph and not just a few sentences.
Embed a link to the article at the bottom of your case study so I may link to it if necessary. Also, this will serve as your footnoting so not to plagiarize.
When emailing article, put in subject line “HADM 4920 OL Case Study (and the number)” So if this is the first case study, you will have “HADM 4920 OL Case Study 1” or “2” if it is the second and so forth. This again will help me pull your emails out from others.
Make sure you are writing solid paragraphs, and that means more than a few sentences. That also means no “fluff” writing to fill in space. If you find an article, in which you cannot find much to talk about. That means you should find another article. I will remove points for “fluff” and short written case studies. Be sure to use your critical thinking skills to analyze the articles to come up with well formulated responses.
