Marx’s ideas on class and government

Give a brief summary of Marx’s ideas on class and government. Jeffries discusses some of the reasons behind the resurgence of the popularity of Marx’s theories.  What are his reasons and do you feel they are valid?  Why or why not? Marx believed that capitalism, with its emphasis on profit and private ownership, led to inequality among citizens.
