After reading the Mulder article and watching the Max Weber video consider the following scenario. You are to identify an organization where you have worked or volunteered.
Analyze that organization using Weber’s theory by answering the following questions. Be sure to cite the course readings as appropriate.
- What is the basic task of the organization and how does that task relate to the mission?
- What is the governance structure of the organization (governing board, top leader)?
- Describe the selection process for employees and/or volunteers. How does that process reflect or different from Weber’s recommendations?
- Does the organization have a formal set of rules or informal rules? How do they follow Weber or are different from Weber.
