The independent variable would be police legitimacy and how that can affect the level of faith or trust that the community has in authority. Trust will therefore be the dependent variable because it will change based on how people perceive police

  1. the target population, sampling design/plan, and anticipated number of cases,
  2. the unit of analysis to test your hypotheses,
  3. the method of data collection and why you have chosen that method,
  4. a specific description of your research design,
  5. conceptual and operational definitions for each key independent, dependent, and control variables you will need to measure your hypotheses,
