How are schizophrenia and autism related?
Schizophrenia and autism seem to overlap at multiple levels. Therefore, it is not surprising that autism was initially believed to be an early manifestation of schizophrenia, and as such it was often referred to as “childhood psychosis” or “schizophrenic syndrome of childhood” (13,14).
