SANEs are able to not only provide advanced, trauma-informed care to individuals who’ve been sexually assaulted but also provide support in the aftermath of an assault. SANEs can provide credible testimony as expert witnesses if a case reaches court.

What is the purpose of the Army Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program?
The Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program, known as SHARP, exists so the Army can prevent sexual harassment and sexual assaults before they occur. Our goal is to eliminate sexual assaults and sexual harassment by creating a climate that respects the dignity of every member of the Army family.
