Substance use assessment process

Discerning where a person is regarding their readiness for change is an important element of the substance use assessment process. Explain how this information about the Stages of Change (Transtheoretical Model) might influence a person at the beginning of treatment. One of the limitations of the Transtheoretical Model is the difficulty social workers may have in determining which stage a client fits into. Give an example of that difficulty.
