Terrestrial biomes

Terrestrial biomes are typically characterized by the dominant vegetation types that are found in their region and temperature and precipitation play a particularly important role in structuring what type of vegetation is found in a particular biome. When characterizing these two components for a particular biome, it is important to consider both the mean annual value as well as the annual variation.
