The major mountain-building event
Orogeny is described as a major mountain-building event in which ancient rocks that formed deep in the crust fold and form mountain ranges. Several orogenic processes acted upon the North-American plate over the past 200 million years e.g. Cordilleran, Laramide, Sevier, etc. Laramide Orogeny particularly has contributed to the formation of several landforms and high ranges of the North American plate. How long the Laramide orogeny was active and what parts of the North American continent were impacted by this orogeny?
