The policies held by a group of nations

The balance of power describes the policies held by a group of nations to protect them against any one nation becoming too powerful. An imbalance in power can be seen in examples such as war through demonstrations like the Cold War (the U.S. was at a standoff with the USSR due to a disagreement in the balance of powers). The balance of tradedescribes the policies aimed at protecting the imports and exports of a country. An imbalance in trade can occur within a nation when the demands of a good do not match the supply of the good.
