The process of encephalization

The process of encephalization (the growing of bigger brains) is a trend that takes off especially at the start of our own genus, the Genus Homo. This increase in cranial capacity may be linked to a variety of different factors such as changes in diet, climate change, the increased need for social awareness and learning. What do you think contributed most to the encephalization seen particularly at the start of the Genus Homo? In your response, discuss at least ONE specific example from our assigned content to support your position.Based on what you have learned so far in this first unit, how has your perception of the start of the Anthropocene changed (or not changed)? What does the archaeological record suggest about and contribute to our ability to understand and shape the futures of our societies? In your response, incorporate at least ONE specific example from our assigned content to discuss how we can use the material remains and understanding of the dynamics of past societies to shape and inform the trajectory of our societies as it relates to the challenges and threats to human existence we may face in the present and future.
