The term Paraphilias refers to patterns of ‘abnormal’
sexual behaviour. People with paraphilic disorders often
have uncontrollable sexual fantasies and desires.
Your lecture notes indicate that Cognitive-Behavioral
the theory argues that abnormal sexual fantasies and
behaviour are learned from a person’s environment –
such as a person’s culture, family and friends.
Also, people do NOT always have control over their own
environment.
If this is true, then a person who has an
ABNORMAL sexual disorder REALLY personally
responsible for their abnormal sexual behaviours?
Should
people with Paraphilias be PUNISHED for their abnormal
sexual behavior?
