The world domesticated different fruit and vegetable crops

Each agricultural area of the world domesticated different fruit and vegetable crops which in turn form the basis for diverse cultural cuisines. Today we can find almost all of these different foods in our local grocery stores and we can eat special dishes from many different countries in a single day. Do you think the globalization of food will lead to the loss of distinct ethnic cuisines? Why or why not? What is an important culinary dish in your family/culture?
