Topic: Quasi-experiment. Quasi-experimental designs address the need to study the effect of an independent variable in settings in which the control features of true experimental designs cannot be achieved such as a control group for comparison or the non-randomization of participants.

One type of design that may consider in the counselling environment would be the pretest-posttest design.
