The transtheoretical model of change

The transtheoretical model of change (TTM) contains two underlying assumptions that might seem contradictory: “Insight alone does not change behavior.” and “Overt action without insight is likely to lead only to temporary change.”

Why is insight alone not enough? And why is action without insight insufficient?
