Should patients/clients have the right to choose which treatment plan they adopt

Should patients/clients have the right to choose which treatment plan they adopt, or should that be driven by the practitioner in charge? Justify your answer.

Is there ever a time when a patient or client should NOT have a say in the treatment plan?

Explain when. Also, consider the state of mind of the patient when you justify your answer (e.g., is the patient of sound mind and body, or are they in a delusional state? Does that change your answer?)

Is it important that a treatment be evidence-based if a patient feels it is working for them? Justify your answer.
