The vascular bundles of a monocot stem are arranged in a continuous ring randomly distributed arranged in a circle grouped in the middle of the stem. Monocot stems are protected by an outer layer of dermal tissue called the epidermis. The rest of the stem is made up of ground tissue and vascular tissue.
