Wage gap workplace

For this final discussion thread  (yay!),  I’d like you to choose marriage or wage gap/workplace and post a discussion question. (Note:  Your discussion question will not count toward your weekly 4 post requirement)

People who post early in the week will have dibs on what “institution” they want to discuss first.  You need to check the board regularly; if you post your discussion question later, you need to ask a question about an institution that has not been addressed.  (Obviously, there might be some overlap, but use common sense.  If you don’t see a question regarding the wage gap, for example, throw one out there.).

Please keep your discussion questions focused on the content of the texts themselves.  Personal experiences and observations are welcome additions, but you’ll be graded on the degree to which you engage the authors’ arguments.   Example questions could include:

· Do you agree with __________’s argument about _________?

· ____________ provides a number of examples of ___________in their essay, ___________.   Did you find them convincing?  Why or why not?

· I don’t understand (or am confused, or not sure how to relate to)   _______________ in __________’s essay.  Can anybody explain or walk me through it?

· __________argues/suggests __________________.  However, I don’t know if this argument still applies today.  What do you think?  Do you have any counter examples of _______________?

· Any other text-specific questions  — personal experiences provide useful counter or supporting examples, but please make sure you’re engaging with the texts/concepts at length!
