Women in positions of power
It is the fault of women that there aren’t more women in positions of power. Women are uninterested, opt out, and are generally preoccupied with family and children.” This is what we call a “supply-side” explanation for women’s under-representation in positions of power. Demand-side explanations look for explanations for women’s subordination in organizational policies and practices, as well as institutional features (laws, childcare infrastructure, culture, etc.). Similar explanations are emerging for minority groups.
What can organisations do about this practically?
