Getting Started Working as a Virtual team . In March of 2020, work in the United States radically changed. That was when Americans began quarantining due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many organizations that had never used virtual teams immediately had to begin using them.
After many months in this new situation, some teams thrived and remote work has become their norm. Other teams saw some benefits but missed having in-person interactions and the brainstorming that came from hallway conversations. These organizations have gone hybrid with some days at home and some days in the office.
Other teams and organizations really struggled and came back to in-person work as soon as possible. Why did these teams struggle? Why didn’t they find any value in remote work? What weaknesses of virtual work could they not overcome? And if they do not do so, will they get left behind in the future?
Upon successful completion of this discussion, you will be able to:
